Well, maybe not snowed in - more like iced in!! We get 6-7 inches of snow here at our house, followed by freezing rain/sleet and that equals one big mess for our state. Andy could not make it into work for 3 days (he finally went in today), schools have been shut down all week with one more snow day tomorrow & we have not left the house since Sunday. Yup, we definately have cabin fever & I don't care what happens tomorrow, we ARE getting out of this house. Bella has gymnastics at 9:30 and we are not missing another week (we had missed the previous two weeks due to illnesses). Ok - maybe not. Literally the second I finished typing that sentence, the gymnastics center called and said they are cancelling classes tomorrow. Guess we will have to figure something else out with the thousands of other kids who are out of school. Or not - everywhere will be too crowded for my liking.
The roads are still icy but MUCH better than the first few days after the storm - tomorrow should warm up to 40 so hopefully, most of the ice on the roadways will be gone. I'm just not comfortable driving, especially with kids, with this stuff. Driving in the snow on Christmas night was scary enough for us so I'm not chancing it. Definately a storm that'll go down in the books. The city of Atlanta has 10 plows - TEN! That's it. I think Marietta has 8. Truckers were stranded on the highways for over 24 hours and their tires started to ICE into the road and they couldn't budge. It's definately been a different week stuck at home but we've survived & we are awaiting the warmer temps tomorrow so we can get out!!
